Artwork from area youth is on exhibit through Feb. 28 at the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute in Pendleton.
ArtWORKz 2015 includes individual as well as collaborative projects by students ages 11 to 19 from throughout Northeastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington. The variety of media forms includes sculptures, paintings, drawings, printmaking, glass art, photography, mixed media, digital computer-generated art, fiber art and traditional tribal work that features beadwork, weaving and paintings.
There will be an artists reception and awards ceremony starting at 1 p.m. Feb. 14.
The institute also will hold a kids craft time from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 31 for ages 5-12. Kids can drop in and participate in their favorite craft project or learn new ones. The event is part of Tamástslikt’s Pepsi Primetime @ the Museum program. There is no cost to participate.
The institute is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $6 for students and free for ages 5 and younger. Family rates are available. For more information, go to www.tamastslikt.org or call 541-429-7700.
