Tamástslikt Cultural Institute is bringing back last summer’s popular Family Day on Saturday, March 22.
Both kids and adults can get their faces painted, make buckskin pouches, listen to storytellers in the Coyote Theater, and take advantage of interactive displays throughout the permanent exhibit. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kinship Cafe, located inside the museum, is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a Native American-inspired menu. The Museum Store, one of the largest museum gift shops in the Northwest, is open and offers a large selection of tribally made jewelry, apparel, art, and accessories plus a full line of Pendleton products, books, CDs, and toys.
Family Day activities are included in the price of admission into Tamástlikt’s current exhibit, “Sustainable Choices in Everyday Life.” The exhibition focuses on the choices people can make every day to live sustainably.
