Teens, ages 13-17, will have another option for something to do on a Friday night at Tamastslikt’s first ever Teen Night scheduled for July 19. Pepsi Primetime @ the Museum invites youth to drop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. to take part in a collaborative art project, watch ongoing music videos, create their own art, mingle with friends, and snack on pizza and Pepsi beverages. Admission, refreshments, and materials are all free.
Pendleton Center for the Arts is partnering with Tamastslikt to offer activities that coincide with the current Ric Gendron: Rattlebone exhibit. Gendron was inspired by contemporary music, pop icons, and Tribal culture. At Teen Night, youth can contribute to a group art work that will be displayed at Tamastslikt. Artistic skills are not required in this multi-media project that includes explosive colors, historic images, and musical inspiration provided by A Tribe Called Red.
Future Teen Nights are being organized by a Teen Council which determines Teen Night activities based on current events and the interests and hobbies of local youth. Teens interested in participating on the council should contact Sandi Franklin at (541) 429-7723 or cassandra.franklin@tamastslikt.org.
Teen Night is held in the Theater at Tamastslikt Cultural Institute. Teens can enter and leave at any time, but readmittance will not be allowed.
