Teresa Ann Marler died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at her home in Irrigon at the age of 52.
She was born March 2, 1961 at Worthington, Minn., to Roger and Dixie Lee (Eggers) Engelson.
She was raised in Minnesota and at age 14 she moved to La Grande. On Nov. 18, 1978 she married Ricky Leon Marler in La Grande. They moved to Umatilla in 1990 and finally to Irrigon in 1994. Teresa worked as the store manager at Circle K (Zip Trip & Abel’s) for many years. She enjoyed all the interactions with her customers from her work. She looked forward to going to the Snake River fishing every year as well as the annual Elk hunting trip and crabbing trips to the coast. She enjoyed going to meetings with Breast Cancer Group and she never passed up a yard sale always looking for something for someone else. She enjoyed watching the birds out her front window always making sure they had food. But number one was her family. She loved and spoiled her grandkids at every chance, always putting everyone before herself.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ricky Marler of Irrigon; father, Roger Engelson of Union; son, Leon Marler of Umatilla; daughter, Crystal Marler of Umatilla; brothers, Ron (Heidi) Engelson of Boise, Idaho, and Terry Engelson of Union; sister, Linda Guenther of Hermiston; grandchildren, Leticia Madrigal, Kimberly Marler, Raul Madrigal, Kyle Marler, and Hailey Marler; and a great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dixie Lee Engelson.
