The end of the 2015-2016 school year is fast approaching, and the Hermiston High School is doing its best to keep up with the plethora of activities and events to keep students busy! Here is an easy sum-up of everything going on with our HHS Bulldogs:

The Pink Panther Strikes Back – Students and community members alike were welcome to go the Hermiston High auditorium at 7 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday in order to watch the play that the drama team has been working hard to put on.

Career Fair – Wednesday, at the Hermiston Conference center, many classes went to attend the Bulldog Career Discovery Fair, which showcased booths for students to look into future careers, take part in a ‘fake interview,’ and even apply for a summer job. Business participating included: Good Shepard Health Care, Hermiston Foods, KRISanthemums, KOHU The Q, US Army, Walmart DC, and even the Hermiston Police Department, among many more.

EOU Discover Your Future – Eastern Oregon University’s “Discover Your Future” event was held on Thursday, April 21st. Student’s last chance to apply and be a part of this opportunity was on Wednesday.

Hermiston High Skills USA – The HHS High Skills USA team did very well, some placing in State. We had a gold medalist in Photography, T-Shirt design, Silver medalists in Television/Video Production, and many more placing students in activities such as web design, job interview, and customer service.

Key Club – On Wednesday, the Bulldog Key Club had their last big event to wrap up the year for those in the art and activities committees. At this point, most of the clubs are wrapping up their teams and setting up preparations for the next year.

Link Crew – Link Crew is a great opportunity for students to become involved with the ninth graders as well as help new high schoolers adapt faster to the new environment. This year was the first year of Link Crew being incorporated into HHS, and now we’re preparing for year two! Applications have already been turned in, but interviews will take place this Wednesday and Thursday after school.

Europe Trip – History teachers Aaron Davis and Ethan McDonald will be hosting a trip to London, Paris, and Amsterdam. Students are encouraged to converse with either teacher if they are interested; the trip is scheduled for June of 2017.
