Tickets are now on sale for the Umatilla Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center annual Distinguished Citizen Award banquet on March 5.
The event takes place at 6 p.m. at the Tuscan Lodge, 720 7th St., Umatilla. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras. Tickets are available at the Umatilla Chamber of Commerce, 100 Cline Ave., for $30. Dinner is catered by Sundown Grill & Bar-B-Q and will include apple smoked beef brisket, two sides, two salads, bread, and huckleberry crème Brule for dessert.
A silent auction for the chamber’s scholarship fund will happen as well as an auction for the table centerpieces. A bonus this year: the Chamber is raffling off a Ruger 10/22 rifle, a Lamiglass salmon/steelhead rod and reel and an Okuma Celilo Kokanee rod and Okuma Citrix reel. Tickets are limited (90 tickets for the rifle and 60 tickets each for the rod and reel sets) and are $5 each. Tickets are available for the raffle items from any chamber board member or at the Chamber office.
Nominations for the Business and Citizen of the Year are available at the chamber office, Carlson’s Umatilla Drug Store, the Umatilla branch of Banner Bank and Java Junkies. Deadline for nominations is Feb. 29.
