Timothy G. “Tim” Newport of Hermiston passed away on Feb. 26, 2021 in La Grande at the age of 63.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1957 in Novato, Calif. to JM and Thelma (Robbs) Newport.
Tim was raised and attended schools in various places in Eastern Oregon. He graduated from Riverside High, Boardman, graduating in the class of 1976. Tim then served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge, when he returned home and met the love of his life, Gail Parnell. They were united in marriage on June 14, 1981 in Irrigon.
Tim was a truck driver most of his working career. He was a proud owner operator for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Hermiston. Tim had a deep faith in the Lord and led many others to grow closer in their walk with Christ.
