Thomas E. “Beenie” Beenblossom died on Nov. 2, 2018 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 72.
He was born on March 3, 1946 in Cozad, Neb. to Del and Florence Weible Beenblossom.
After his parents’ divorce, he was raised by his foster father, Carl Dowers, in the Willamette Valley around the Salem area. He moved to Hermiston in 1962 and worked at C&B Livestock for a time. Tom was united in marriage with Bonnie Constant on Jan. 31, 1969 in Hermiston. He went to work for Lamb Weston in 1973 and retired in 2014 as the boiler/refrigeration lead.
Tom enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and watching the Food Network and the Nature Channel, and was rarely seen without his dog, Cuddles.
He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Bonnie Beenblossom, Hermiston; sons, Carl Beenblossom, Moyie Springs, Idaho and Michael Beenblossom, Hermiston; daughters, Misty (Daniel) Ciontos, Salem and Chenoa (Mike) Van Schoiack, Hermiston; brothers, Dennis, Randy and Doug Beenblossom; sister, Rhonda Vincent; 18 grandchildren; one great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jacqueline Meier.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
