Tom Miller

Thomas J. “Tom” Miller passed peacefully on Oct. 20, 2020 at his home in Hermiston with his wife, Annie by his side at the age of 63.

He was born on Feb. 23, 1957 in Havre, Mont.

He lived in Vancouver, Wash. and Klamath Falls before moving to Hermiston, where he resided at the time of his death. Tom held many jobs throughout his life, but the railroad was his passion. He worked for BNSF in Vancouver and Union Pacific in Hermiston.

He devoted his life to following Christ and genuinely enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the Bible with friends and family. He could spend hours praising the Lord for his many blessings and helping others to understand the Word. His gentle guidance led many to seek a deeper relationship with the Lord.

When Tom married his soul mate, Annie in 1986, he inherited four girls and a grandson. The family would grow to include 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, with several others adopting him along the way. Tom was affectionately referred to as friend, son, brother, uncle, husband and dad, but the one that brought him the most joy was Papa. He loved everyone unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Those who called him Papa held a special place in his heart. He was and will continue to be a source of love, support and encouragement for all who knew him.

A small family gathering was held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 at the Hermiston Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
