Toni Connell Returns to Boardman City Hall as New Utility Clerk

Toni Connell is a familiar face at the city of Boardman and she recently re-joined the city as the new utility clerk Connell after a five-year absence from the staff.

During those five years, she served on the city’s planning commission and most recently as a Boardman city councilor. Connell resigned her seat as city councilor to be able to work full-time at city hall.

Connell has lived in Boardman for 11 years with her husband, Mike. She volunteers for the local ambulance service and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, swimming and arts and crafts

The city is currently seeking letters of interest from individuals willing to be considered for appointment to fill a vacancy on the city council. The term expires Dec. 31, 2020.

Those interested must have resided in the city of Boardman during the 12 months immediately preceding the appointment. Letters of interest must be received no later than 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1 to City Manager Karen Pettigrew at Boardman City Hall for consideration. The city council will interview the candidates, and appoint the new councilor at their Aug. 6 council meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m.
