Downtown Hermiston and the Festival Street will light up with holiday cheer on Thursday, Nov. 30 with the annual Tree Lighting Celebration and Lighted Parade.

Residents and visitors alike are invited to gather around Hermiston’s Christmas Tree on the Festival Street in front of City Hall, enjoy live music by local students and carolers, watch the lighted night parade, and welcome Santa Claus as he flips the switch on the light display to kick off the holiday season.

Music will begin at 4:30 p.m., the parade will start at 5:30 p.m., and Santa will light the tree at 6:15 p.m. Make sure to bundle up and stick around for pictures with Santa.

Entries are now open for the parade, so bring your car, truck, tractor or other vehicle lit up for the holidays and compete for prizes for most festive. Businesses, groups, and individuals are welcome to participate. Entry is free, but sign-up is required at bit.ly/hermistonrecreation by Wednesday, Nov. 29.
