Because the COVID pandemic put so many things on hold, First Coast Security waited nearly 18 months to celebrate its new location on Hermiston Avenue.

But the wait was worth it on Thursday when supporters and chamber of commerce representatives turned out for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Kyle Smith, senior vice president, opened his remarks Thursday by thanking a long list of businesses and individuals that have given First Coast Security support since it first arrived in Hermiston in 2017.

“The community has welcomed First Coast Security with open arms,” he said.

The ceremony on Thursday was hosted by both the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce and the Boardman Chamber of Commerce. That’s because First Coast Security has locations in both cities and has 815 employees that serve a single client, whose name was not disclosed due to a confidentiality agreement.

First Coast Security has locations in 17 states including the District of Columbia. For more information about the company, visit its website.
