Two men were injured in a shooting Wednesday night, July 26, in the Irrigon area, according to the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office in a statement reported the MCSO Communications Center at 8:04 p.m. on July 25 received a 911 call reporting a possible drive-by shooting in the Depot Lane area just outside Irrigon.
Investigators believe the shooting was between the people involved and not a random incident, according to the statement.
The sheriff’s office stated an emergency helicopter flew one man to a hospital in the Tri-Cities area while an ambulance took the other to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. Both men have since been released from the hospitals, according to the MCSO statement.
The investigation is in its early stages and the MCSO will release further information when it becomes available, according to the statement.
“This early in the investigation … and this what they (investigators) are comfortable at this time putting out, so that’s all we have right now,” said Melissa A. Camarillo, MCSO administrative lieutenant and public information officer.
The MCSO is asking anyone who has information about the shooting to call 541-676-5317.
According to the MCSO, other agencies that responded to the incident were Boardman Police Department, Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Irrigon Ambulance, Irrigon Fire, Boardman Fire Rescue District and Life Flight.
