The Umatilla County Housing Authority will host its first National Night Out Block Party from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 at Victory Square Park in Hermiston.
This free community event aims to strengthen neighborhood bonds and provide attendees with access to valuable community resources.
The block party will feature a wide range of activities and services, including carnival games and activities for children, face painting, live music, local food vendors, safety demonstrations, a resource fair showcasing community services, and the chance to meet local law enforcement and firefighters.
The National Night Out Block Party is free and open to all ages. No registration is required.
“We’re excited to bring our community together for an evening of food, fun, and information,” UCHA Chief Operating Officer Tristin Martinez said. “This event is a perfect opportunity for residents to connect with their neighbors and learn about the resources available to them in a positive, welcoming environment.”
The event is made possible through partnerships with numerous local organizations, including CAPECO, Mirasol Family Health Center, UMHS, Family Health Associates, EUVALCREE, the Fair Housing Council of Oregon, Umatilla County Search and Rescue, Doulas Latinas, the Migrant Education Program, Hill’s Meat Company, COPES, the Boardman Fire Rescue District, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District, the Hermiston High School National Honor Society, Energy Trust of Oregon, Good Shepherd Medical Center Education Department, and the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce.
