Thanks to a partnership with University of Oregon and its research project, RADx-Up, Umatilla Electric Cooperative will be one of four local sites hosting free drive-through COVID testing.
The first test site will be Umatilla High School on Saturday, Feb. 6.
A $4.9 million grant from the National Institutes of Health will expand COVID-19 testing to underserved Latinx communities in counties throughout Oregon using testing capacity created by the University of Oregon’s COVID-19 Monitoring and Assessment Program (MAP).
The project addresses the significant disparities in COVID-19 cases among Latinx communities in Oregon by collaborating with county and community partners to scale up 36 testing sites across multiple counties in Oregon.
Testing will take place every first and third Saturday beginning Feb. 6 and continuing to Aug. 21 at the following locations and times:
- Umatilla High School – 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Atkinson Staffing – 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Testing will take place every second and fourth Saturday beginning Feb. 13 and continuing to Aug. 28 at the following locations and times:
