The Umatilla Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center is seeking nominations for Citizen and Business of the Year.
The chamber will honor the winners during its Distinguished Citizen Award Banquet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7 at the Village on the Green, 705 Willamette Ave., in Umatilla.
Tickets for the event are $25 each or $45. Tickets and nomination forms are available at the Umatilla branch of Banner Bank, Carlson’s Umatilla Drug Store, Java Junkies or the chamber office. Nomination forms can also be picked up at Columbia Harvest Foods.
Table sponsorships are also available. There is no charge to sponsor a table but the table sponsor is responsible for decorating the table starting at noon on March 7 until 5 p.m. The best decorated table sponsor will receive a prize and the decorations will be auctioned off at the dinner.
The event will also include a silent auction to benefit Umatilla High School students who plan to attend college. Three $100 scholarships will be awarded each year to three deserving high school seniors. Call Vicky Borden at Java Junkies at 541-667-4181 to donate an item to the silent auction.
