Umatilla County’s unemployment rate fell in December to 7.6 percent.
According to the Oregon Employment Department, Umatilla County’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell 0.3 percent from November’s 7.9 percent. The unemployment rate is 0.6 percent lower than it was in December 2012.
The county has a civilian labor force of 37,596 with 2,975 people unemployed.
Morrow County’s seasonally-adjusted jobless rate for last month was 6.8 percent, up from November’s 6.7 percent, but significantly down from the 8.2 percent jobless rate in December 2012.
The state’s unemployment rate in December was 7.0, down from November’s figure of 7.3 and December 2012’s rate of 8.3 percent.
