Last Saturday’s Umatilla Landing Days included a parade and Subway took home the Best in Show award.
Subway’s entry included a pick-up truck with the restaurant’s logo and a larger-than-life sub sandwich. The Subway mascot walked the parade route and entertained parade watchers and judges, alike, helping Subway to take home the top prize in the Commercial division.
Other parade winners included the Umatilla Public Library Summer Reading Program, which claimed Honorable Mention. The top entry in the Motorized division went to Bill Sheller.
The Mayor’s Choice award went to the Umatilla High School’s FIRST Robotics “Team Confidential.”
The Irrigon Chamber of Commerce took home the Judge’s Special award.
