Umatilla National Forest Supervisor Eric Watrud is hosting a series of open houses across the forest for community members to share information about their interests and engage with local forest leadership and staff. One of the events will take place at the Heppner Ranger District office on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
“I believe strong community connections and partnerships are an integral part of the forest service mission,” said Watrud. “I am excited for the opportunity to engage with community members surrounding the Umatilla (National Forest) and hear what is important to the people that we serve, so that we can explore ways to work together to manage the public’s land.”
Local district staff will also be available to talk about forest management, current and ongoing projects, and other interests or concerns. The Heppner office is located at 117 S. Main St. For more information, call 541-676-9187.
