The Umatilla Police Department will host the six-week Women’s Safety Summit from Aug. 24 through Sept. 28.
The goal of the free event is to provide an environment where women can come together and learn a variety of basic skill sets without fear of judgement.
Instructors will cover the essential areas of financial security, self defense and situational awareness, outdoor survival, basic home repair and maintenance, firearms knowledge and concealed carry, and basic auto maintenance. All experience levels are encouraged to attend.
Classes are on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at the police department, 300 Sixth St. For more information, call 541-922-3789.
