The Umatilla Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a kayaking event on the Columbia River for those 18 years and older on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The group will meet at the Hat Rock State Park boat launch and set out at 9 a.m., arriving at McNary Beach at around 12:30 p.m. Kayakers are cautioned to wear appropriate clothing and bring plenty of water.
