Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla and Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton will present a one-day recruiting event this Friday, Sept. 7 at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton.
According to the Department of Corrections, the department offers well-paying jobs, good benefits, free college opportunities with AFSCME, veterans’ incentives and more.
All-day offerings for attendees include welcome and sign-in with briefing on the one-day application process; assistance with the NEOGOV online application; and assistance with scheduling the National Testing Network’s REACT test. Registration should be done ahead of time online to ensure same-day testing. The test will be administered at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
To qualify for employment, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen; 21 years of age at time of appointment; must have a high school diploma or GED; and must pass a criminal history background check, health screening and NTN REACT test.
Attendees must bring valid photo identification (driver’s license, military ID or passport). If registering for the REACT test at the event, a valid credit card or debit card is required for the $35 fee. Pertinent information (a resume, DD214 or VA disability rating letter) is also required to complete a detailed application.
