The Umatilla Police Department is continuing its investigation into a drive-by shooting that occurred last month in the South Hill area.

A security camera captured the shooting and shows a car pulling up to a house on Tyler Avenue at 11:46 p.m. on May 16 with two people getting out and opening fire on a car and a house before quickly driving away.

Kyle Baker, officer administrator for the police department, said no one was in the car at the time, but four people were in the house. No one was injured, she said.

Baker said the victims are cooperating and investigators have “a couple of leads” in the case that they hope “can tie it back to some individuals.”

Baker also said the department is not yet labeling the shooting as gang-related, but is “exploring all possibilities.”

It’s not clear at this time where the suspects are from.

“We don’t know if they’re from Umatilla specifically, but we believe some of them have local ties to the area,” said Baker.

  1. It is probably the same group of drug-addicts that killed a young man in Umatilla to take his house and possessions, and claimed it was suicide. They are from the Washington side and invaded our county with their drug activity. They are known to the police and unfortunately the police have done nothing to get them out of here
