The Umatilla Police Department is playing host to a Women’s Safety Summit over the next several weeks.
The classes, which will be held at the Umatilla Police Department, will cover a variety of topics and will be taught be local experts.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6:30, Hermiston Police Officer Erica Sandoval will provide information on social media safety. Sandoval will offer tips on keeping you identity protected as well as other safety tips on social media and the Internet.
The following week, on Oct. 30 at 6:30, Umatilla Police Officer Natalia Tovey will teach a class on Situational Awareness in which attendees will learn basic concepts in keeping safe in the home and in the car while traveling. Learn how common items such as your purse can protect you from danger.
The final class will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Kathy Thomas, health and safety educator with Good Shepherd Medical Center, will share basic health and wellness techniques that will get you on the road to good health and happiness.
