Voters in Umatilla, Stanfield and Echo cast their votes in mayoral and city council races on Tuesday.
In Umatilla, Councilor Ashley Wheeler defeated former Mayor Dave Trott with 683 votes to Trott’s 472. Incumbent Councilor Daren Dufloth was unopposed for Position 2 and Bruce McLane also ran unopposed for Position 6, succeeding Councilor Roak TenEyck.
Stanfield will have a new mayor as Council President Scott Challis ran unopposed to succeed outgoing Mayor Susan Whelan. In the race for three at-large council seats, incumbents Butch Parish and Donald Tyrrell as well as newcomer Angi Haigh won election to the council. Parish received 432 votes, Haigh 411 votes and Tyrrell 404 votes. Incumbent Rosa Bautista Holt came in fourth with 366 votes.
Echo Mayor Chad Ray will serve another term after running unopposed. In the race for three at-large seats, the winners were incumbents Tammie Williams with 162 votes, Richard Thew with 149 and Jessie Holben wiht 142. Maria Rollins finished fourth with 104 votes.
