Bobby E. Day Jr. died on Jan. 18, 2017 at his home in Umatilla at the age of 52.
He was born on March 25, 1964 in Sacramento, Calif., to Bobby Day Sr. and Rebecca Tatum Day. Bobby was raised in California until the age of 9 when the family moved to Redmond and then to Hermiston at the age of 12. Bobby graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1982. He joined the United States Army in 1983 and served until his honorable discharge in 1986. He lived in Boise, Idaho and worked for DirecTV until moving to Umatilla in 2013 where he has lived since. Bobby enjoyed playing the guitar and writing music.
He is survived by his mother: Rebecca Day, Umatilla, OR, father: Bobby E. Day Sr., Stockton, CA; sons: Bobby G. Day, Fruitland, ID, and Brandon Day, Boise, ID; sister: Bonnie Walchli, Hermiston, OR; fiancee: Terri Carter, Umatilla, OR; 3 grandchildren: Bobby Leo, Isaiah, & David.
A funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Hermiston.
Burial with military honors will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
