Umatilla's Linda Stokoe Passes Away at Age 66

Linda R. Stokoe died on May 1, 2015 at her home in Umatilla at the age of 66.

She was born on Nov. 30, 1948 in Ritzville, Wash., to Fred and Ruth Gross Deerheim. She was raised and attended school in Sprague, Wash.,, graduating from Sprague High School. Linda was united in marriage to Richard E. Stokoe on June 3, 1967 in Sprague, Wash. They traveled throughout the Northwest before settling in Umatilla in 1993 where they have lived since. Linda had worked as an emergency telecommunications dispatcher and later worked in the medical field before owning and operating Hometown Video in Umatilla for several years. She enjoyed camping, the ocean, family gatherings, social media, and playing games.

She is survived by her husband, Richard E. “Dick” Stokoe, Umatilla; sons, Rick Stokoe and wife Shari, Boardman, and Leonard Stokoe and wife Marcia, Umatilla; brother, Arthur Deerheim, Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Daniel, Kaylee, Stephanie, and Skyler.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
