Roger L. Von Arx of Umatilla died on Feb. 9, 2017 in Hermiston at the age of 63.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1953 in Portland to Leo and Dorothy Law Von Arx. Roger graduated from Pendleton High School in 1972 and then served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. He lived in Pendleton for most of his life where he made and sold homemade fishing tackle for many years. After his mother passed away in 2007 he moved to Umatilla where he has lived since. Roger loved to go fishing and hunting.
Roger leaves behind extended family and good friends with countless fishing and hunting adventures and the endless stories that will be forever cherished.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Giesler.
A private family burial will be at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.
