Umpqua Bank, formerly Sterling Savings Bank, will open at its new location in December.
The bank has been operating out of its temporary location on Highland Avenue next to Domino’s Pizza for the past several months while the new building is being renovated. On Dec. 22, the bank will open for business at 450 N. First St., the former location of A&W and KFC.
According to Art Flores, manager for the Hermiston Umpqua Bank, the new building will feature a drive-up window, a large parking lot, free Wi-Fi, ATM service, and a coffee and tea bar.
“We will also devote space inside to showcase a local business,” Flores said. “It’s a program we call Local Spotlight. We display and sell a business’s goods, and pass on all the proceeds.”
People can nominate a local business to spotlight on the Umpqua website.
