Verla L. Knapp Frost of Hermiston passed away on Aug. 7, 2024 in Hermiston surrounded by her family at the age of 95.
She was born on March 18, 1929 in Pendleton to Guy Elmer Knapp and Ida Mae Stewart Knapp.
Verla graduated from Hermiston High School. She married Boyd M. Frost on July 6, 1946 and they lived most of their lives in Eastern Oregon. Verla was a stay-at-home mom, raising their four children, and was always happy to help with the grandchildren. She loved gardening and listening to music and could out-fish and out-hunt most everybody.
She is survived by her children, Doug Frost and wife Naomi, Ocean Shores, Wash., Linda Geddes, Irrigon; Russ Frost and wife Kathy, Hermiston; daughter-in-law, Anne Frost, Kelso, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Verla was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Mel Frost; her parents; and her siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
