Virginia Miller Passes Away at 93

Virginia Bellis Miller of Hermiston died on Sept. 16, 2018 in Hermiston at the age of 93.

She was born on April 28, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa to Vern and Mamie Nehlsen Bellis.

She was raised and attended school in the Waterloo, Iowa area. Virginia was united in marriage to Harold C. Miller on Oct. 27, 1946 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. They lived in Charles City, Iowa before moving to Laramie, Wyo. in the late 1950s, where they owned and operated a jewelry store. In 1964 they moved to Phoenix, Ariz. and then to Hermiston in the early 1980s, where Virginia had lived since.

Virginia was a member of the Lutheran Church, Red Hat Society, and the Sundial Stitchers while living in Arizona. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, music, playing the organ, gardening, going on walks, decorating for holidays and her Dachshund dogs.

She is survived by her sons, Charles “Chuck” Miller and his wife Bonnie, Douglas “Doug” Miller and his wife Cindie; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Miller; her parents; a sister, Doris; and brothers, Bob and Jack.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
