Virginia L. Randolph of Hermiston passed away peacefully on April 22, 2018 in Puyallup, Wash. under the care of hospice at the age of 90.
Virginia was born on Nov. 2, 1927 in Tigard to Ernest and Ethel Flood Borthwick. They later moved to Hermiston, where Virginia lived until shortly before her death.
In 1946, Virginia married Ralph Hartley and they had six children: Dennis of Cottonwood, Ariz., Scott (Donna) of Summerville, Brad of Portland, Marcia Sherris of Kennsington, Calif., Janis (Terry) Williams of Lake Tapps, Wash., and Harold (Pat) of Enterprise. They divorced in 1978. Virginia was married to Bill Randolph until his death in 1985.
Virginia spent most of her earlier years as a housewife, raising her six children. She loved to sew and make keepsakes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A favorite activity was collecting fabric that she knew she could turn into blankets or other projects.
In the early 1990s, she operated a cross-stitch store on Main Street in Hermiston. She enjoyed cross-stitch and was delighted with the people that came into her store.
She is survived by two sisters, Carol Richmond of Hermiston and Frances Loney of Apache Junction, Ariz.; her six children and spouses; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents; brothers, Neal, Bob, Jim, Richard and Gerald; sisters, Irene and Mary Ellen; and great grandson, Trevor Page.
A private celebration of life will be held at a future time.
