Virginia Mae Williams passed away on Sept. 29, 2018 in Pendleton at the age of 89.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1928 in Hamilton, Wash. to James and Ella Combs McIlrath.
Virginia grew up and attended school near Hamilton, Wash., graduating from Sedro Woolley High School in the class of 1946. She attended Lane Community College in Eugene where she completed her studies to become a licensed practical nurse. She worked as an LPN for over 30 years. As an adult she lived in the communities of Arcada, Calif., Springfield, Hermiston in the mid-1990s, and had lived in Pendleton for the past seven years.
Virginia was a big supporter of Special Olympics and veterans’ organizations. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs.
She is survived by a daughter, Rogena Olson; son, Jeffrey Severson; brother, Niel McIlrath; grandson, Brad Olson; great granddaughter, Katie Rowen; and great-great grandchildren, Maycee and Jace Rowen.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
