Volunteers are needed at Oxbow Trail property near Riverfront Park to help control Garlic Mustard, a Class” B” invasive weed.

Starting in April volunteers are invited to join us on the second Saturday and/or the third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. Pre-registration is not required. Volunteers will meet on Saturday, April 9 to begin work.

A Garlic Mustard Containment Zone will be established to prevent the plants from spreading into the Umatilla Basin Watershed Council’s 7,000 trees located on Oxbow Property which is a Columbia Riverkeeper/ SOLVE Adopt-A-River project sponsored by the Tour Of Knowledge, a Hermiston-based natural resource group.

Volunteers will meet in the Riverfront Park parking lot. For more information, call 541-303-3872 or e-mail hermistonleo@yahoo.com.
