Walden said the bill seeks to boost research and spur innovation for breakthroughs that will lead to better treatments for MS – and eventually a cure.
Among those Walden met with were Merilee McDowell of Heppner and Pamila Hussey, a native of Milton-Freewater. Several thousands of Oregonians suffer from multiple sclerosis and, according to Walden, the Pacific Northwest has one of the highest rates of MS in the world.
Walden represents Oregon’s Second Congressional District.
