Agency officials will be on hand in Canyon City, Baker City, and Enterprise to give an update to Walden and community members about recovery efforts. Fires have burned throughout Oregon this summer. In Baker and Grant counties alone, the Cornet/Windy Ridge and Canyon Creek Complex fires have burned a combined total of over 213,000 acres and destroyed 47 homes. At the town halls, Walden will also give an update on legislation he has championed in the House — the Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2015 — to reform federal forest policy and prevent wildfire.

Walden will hold a meeting in in Baker City at the Sunridge Inn, 1 Sunridge Lane, at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15. He will then meet in Enterprise at the Enterprise Senior Center, 702 N.W. First St., at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Walden will head over to La Grande for a meeting at Eastern Oregon University in the Alumni Room at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Walden has already held 23 town halls in Oregon’s Second District so far this year (at least one in all 20 counties in the district).
