U.S. Rep. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) will hold town hall meetings on Monday in Umatilla and Baker counties, with stops in between to visit with Pendleton Rotary Club members and meet with local veterans leaders in La Grande.
Walden will hold a town hall meeting in Echo at 9:30 a.m. at the Echo Community Center, 20 S. Bonanza St. He will then attend the Pendleton Rotary Club meeting at noon at the Red Lion Hotel in Pendleton, 304 S.E. Nye Ave.
A the La Grande veterans round table at 2:30 p.m., Walden will give an update on bipartisan legislation recently passed by the U.S. House to fund key veterans programs and improve the VA’s claims backlog. Later, Walden will attend the 100th birthday celebration of Baker City World War II veteran Leslie Davis, where he will present Davis with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his honor.
