U.S. Rep. Greg Walden (R-Hood River) has participated in 40 town halls during 2019.
According to his office, the Hood River Republicanhas held more town halls per capita and at large than any other member of the Oregon Congressional Delegation this year and more than the majority of members of the House of Representatives.
He has held 188 town halls since 2012 and 40 this year alone. Walden represents the Second Congressional District of Oregon, the largest in the state and one of the largest in the United States.
“Traveling the district to hear from Oregonians is one of the best, and perhaps most important, parts of my job,” said Walden. “Town halls are an important opportunity to hear what issues people face across our district and add them to my to-do list. I appreciate all who take the time out of their day to come out and participate.
“Every town hall I hold is also a reminder, that thanks to our brave men and women in uniform, we are blessed with great freedoms, like the freedom to assemble and the freedom of speech. We might disagree with fellow Americans on various issues, but I think we can all agree that it is great to live in a free country.”
