Ward Preston Borden of Hermiston died on Aug. 23, 2021 in Hermiston at the age of 63.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1958 in Prineville to Donnie and Patricia Washington Borden.
Ward was raised in the southern United States before returning to Central Oregon. He married Nadine Fish on Sept. 10, 2005 in Reno, Nev. and they lived in Bend. Ward was working for Foley Drywall, and they decided to relocate to Hermiston in 2013 to be closer to work.
He enjoyed gambling, playing pool, fishing, traveling and cherished time with his family. Ward enjoyed making people laugh, even strangers. It was easy for him to brighten someone’s day, no matter the time, he is well known to look at you and say, “Good morning.”
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Borden, Hermiston; mother, Patricia Borden, Gainesville, Texas; children, Ward Bucher, Pendleton and Patricia Adsit, Pendleton; stepchildren, Nick of Redmond and Trisha of Bend; siblings, David, Donnie, Rhonda, Donna and Peggy; grandchildren, Lea, Preston, Parker, Laycee, Charlie, Marley, Oakley, Adira, Kennedy and Tristan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ward was preceded in death by his father.
A graveside funeral service following state guidelines will be held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
