Coleman “Wayne” Miracle of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on Oct. 2, 2024 at the age of 79.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1945 in Harlan, Ky. to Oscar and Anna Hoskins Miracle.
Wayne moved from Kentucky to Lexington when he was a child and he attended schools in Heppner. He then returned to Kentucky, where he graduated from high school. He moved back to Oregon in the early 1980s and had resided mostly in the Hermiston area since that time. Wayne worked throughout his career as a fork lift operator for Simplot and Lamb Weston. He retired from Lamb Weston in 2007.
Wayne enjoyed fishing, camping, playing his guitar, being in nature and spending time with his family. He had a strong faith and belief in God which was reflected in his beliefs and values and the way he lived his life. Wayne married Ilene Daniels in Heppner on June 12, 1974. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 12, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Ilene; five children, Lance (Rachel) Miracle, Wade Miracle, Brandy Miracle, David Miracle and Eric Miracle; he also raised three grandchildren as if they were his own, Austin, Caitlyn and Aiden; grandchildren, Devon, Dylan, Derrick, Ariahna, Olivia, Emily, Erica, Isiah, Logan, Paige, Jaci, Ryan, Mason, Ryder and Kendall; many great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell Miracle; sisters, Delphine, Angie and Judy; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Anna; sisters, Pam and Nila; and son, Troy.
The family will plan a private family celebration of life at a later time.
