State Rep. Greg Smith (R-Heppner) is bringing the Joint Ways and Means Committee to Hermiston on April 20 as part of its “road show,” in which the committee travels around the state to hear from Oregonians on the budget priorities.
The public hearing will take place on April 20 at Hermiston High School with the exact time to be announced later.
“The Hermiston School District is delighted to host the Ways & Means Committee,” said Hermiston School District Superintendent Fred Maiocco. “We appreciate Rep. Smith and the Committee in considering Hermiston for this important event.”
The public hearing will give the public an opportunity to provide testimony and input to the committee members regarding budget priorities.
“We appreciated the willingness of the Ways & Means Committee members to come and learn about our priorities,” said Steve Eldrige, General Manager and CEO of Umatilla Electric Cooperative. “We also thank Rep. Smith and his leadership in making this happen.”
Citizens from the Pendleton and La Grande areas will be able to participate in video conferencing for the event. More information on accessing the video conferencing will also be forthcoming.
“This event is important to our region,” said Gary Neal, general manager of the Port of Morrow. “We look forward to welcoming the Ways & Means Committee.”
Smith is the ranking member of the Ways and Means Committee.
