White Pleads Guilty to Robbery, Burglary

A Walla Walla man who was charged in the 2013 murder of an 80-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

According to Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus, Jacob Lee White has pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary in the January 2013 murder of Joyce Key near the Milton-Freewater area. She was tied to a kitchen chair, blindfolded and beaten. She died several months later.

Sentencing for White will take place after the trials of his two co-defendants. Caleb Leon Scott, 22, is charged with murder, while Matthew Raymond Hermann, 21, is charged with aggravated murder. His trail is set to begin in July 2015, while Scott’s is scheduled for December 2014. Hermann could face the death penalty if found guilty.

Both Scott and Hermann are also from Walla Walla.
