William Dennis “Bill” Harlan died on May 5, 2024 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 84.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1940 in San Jose, Calif. to Paul and Alice Stewart Harlan.
Bill was raised and attended schools in Monterey, Calif. He joined the United States Navy in 1957 and served three tours in Vietnam. Bill was honorably discharged in 1988. He worked for the V.A. in Portland until moving to Hermiston in 1983.
Bill married Berniece Stahl on Jan. 28, 1983. He worked for Lamb Weston in Boardman until retiring in 2005. Bill loved to geo-catch with his buddy, fly drones, and most of all spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Berniece; step son, Adam (Karey); daughters, Jeannette Kinney (Bill) and June Bruhn; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; one brother; and two nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
