The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Eastern Oregon and is forecasting gusts up to 50 mph.

A Pacific weather system with a strong cold front has moved into the region this morning, causing strong winds to blow throughout the area. Northwest winds will blow between 30-35 mph. Peak wind speeds should occur this morning and early afternoon. The wind advisory is in effect until 5 p.m.

The weather service advises caution for those driving high-profile vehicles. The wind speeds could also cause tree and property damage and blowing dust may make driving conditions even more hazardous.
