The city of Hermiston will kick off its Winter Festival this evening with a tree lighting ceremony, a visit from Santa and more.
The fun gets under way at 5:30 p.m. on Second Street in front of Hermiston City Hall. The Brad and Bruce Power Duo will take the stage at 5:30 p.m., followed by a welcoming message from Mayor Dave Drotzmann at 6 p.m.
At 6:10 p.m., Santa will arrive just in time for the tree lighting ceremony at 6:15 p.m. A light show will be on display every 30 minutes and downtown merchants will be open for Christmas shopping and children will get a chance to have their pictures taken with Santa.
The festival will continue through Dec. 23 with live entertainment and events
