A winter storm watch is in effect for the Lower Columbia Basin starting at 10 a.m. today and continuing through Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing rain and more snow for Eastern Oregon from Pendleton to Boardman and into Walla Walla. Up to a half an inch of ice and one to two inches of new snow could fall late Tuesday morning. Steady freezing rain and possible sleet will occur Tuesday night and is expected to transition to mostly rain by Wednesday morning.
The weather will make roads hazardous and ice accumulations may cause downed tree limbs and power lines.
