The Umatilla County Fire District #1 conducted a follow-up inspection on Monday of the silage pile fire in southwest Hermiston.
According to the district, the property owner continues to work on extinguishing the pile with a combination of heavy equipment and water being trucked in. They have also hauled off 15 loads of silage over the weekend.
The district said it is continuing to work with the property owner while communicating with other regulatory agencies. The district said it will continue to monitor the issue until the fire has been completely extinguished.
