Oregon State University will host a field workshop on blackleg disease of canola at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 at the Pendleton Ag Research Center.

Winter canola in the region has been, again, affected by blackleg disease, said Mary Corp, director of the Columbia Basin Ag Research Center. At the current plant stage, symptoms can be subtle and easily overlooked, she said. The workshop will show growers how to identify the disease.

The center is located six miles northeast of Pendleton on Highway 11 and one mile east of Tubbs Ranch Road. For more information, call 541-278-5403.
