Scott Michael Cimmiyotti of Hermiston died on April 22, 2025 in Kennewick, Wash. at the age of 73.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1951 in The Dalles to John and Maxine Norris Cimmiyotti.
Scott was raised in Arlington and Huntington, graduating from Ontario High School in the class of 1970. He then attended trade school, learning electronics before going to work for Marlette Homes in Hermiston. Scott was united in marriage to Renae Carson on Aug. 19, 1972 in Huntington. He later worked for Lamb Weston for 19 years before opening Scott’s Cycle & Sports in Hermiston in 1993 and later adding a second store in Kennewick in 2001.
Scott was a member of the Kiwanis Club, served on the Rise Board and was active in the Blue Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed biking (riding the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic six times), gardening, hunting (including a special moose hunt in Canada) and fishing (for fish as well as catching an alligator in Florida with a fishing pole).
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Renae Cimmiyotti, Hermiston; sons, Brian M. Cimmiyotti, Umatilla and Steven S. Cimmiyotti, wife Nancy, Hermiston; daughters, Angela S. Cimmiyotti, Pendleton and Sabrina E. Ely, Boardman; sisters, Judy Robinson, husband Roger and Marcia Anderson, husband Larry; brothers, Philip, wife Debbie, Blake, and Pat, wife Rebecca; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Chuck and Bradley “Griz.”
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Hermiston Christian Center, 1825 W. Highland Ave.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
