Woman experiencing possible cardiac issue rescued in Morrow County

MORROW COUNTY, Ore.-The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Search and Rescue team responded to a woman having a possible cardiac issue near the Coalmine Hill Campground on the afternoon of September 3.

MCSO Search and Rescue, Heppner Fire and Morrow County Ambulance responded to the area just off Bald Mountain Trail, about forty minutes southeast of Heppner, around 2 p.m. for reports of a 67-year-old woman who was having trouble breathing.

According to the MCSO, two four-wheeler teams and one side-by-side (UTV) with two medics searched for the woman and found her about two miles from the command post on Forest Road 750 at 3:56 p.m.

“I would like to thank and commend the teams on a job well done,” said Morrow County Sheriff, John Bowles.

The woman, who was having difficulty breathing and was experiencing possible cardiac issues when she was found, was transported to the top of Little Bald Mountain, where she was picked up by a LifeFlight.
